Barca close on Keirrison

The Spanish and European champions have been quiet in the transfer market so far this summer, but are expected to seal a deal for Keirrison imminently.

Keirrison, 20, only joined Palmeiras in January following his impressive exploits for Coritiba, who he top scored with last season with 21 goals.

Barca president Joan Laporta has confirmed that an agreement is in place and that an announcement could soon be made.

"We are close to formalising Keirrison's contract, there's already a pre-agreement in place," said Laporta.

"Keirrison is a player we have been monitoring for some time and we expect to announce his signing soon."
