Ronaldo targets Champions League
The Portugal international has outlined his ambition for his first season with Los Merengues as the Bernabeu will host the European Cup final next term and he wants to be a part of it.
Ronaldo won the Champions League with Manchester United in the 2007/08 campaign, however, last year's final ended in heartache as The Red Devils succumbed 2-0 to Barcelona.
"My great dream is to win the Champions League in the Santiago Bernabeu next season," he told Marca.
After winning the Ballon d'Or last term, many pundits in Spain are predicting that he can repeat that success in the white of Madrid, but Ronaldo does not see that as his main aim.
"Many players have won the Ballon d'Or with Real Madrid. Of course there are aspects of my game which I can improve upon," he continued.
"But my priority is not the Ballon d'Or, it is the success of the team. I want to one day win the same number of trophies as Di Stefano."
With all the money Real have splashed out on world class talent this summer the former Sporting Lisbon winger believes Spain is now Europe's elite league.
"The Premier League is a very good competition, but I think that the Spanish league is going to have a little more quality because of the players that are arriving.
"Both leagues are going to be very good, but I think that with Florentino Perez's signings the Spanish league is superior to the English.
"It's going to be a magnificent competition in Spain this year. All the players have a lot of quality and the referees protect the players more."
