Milan bid for Huntelaar and Fabiano
AC Milan have begun trying to spend the money they received for Kaka, tabling bids for two centre forwards - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar of Real Madrid, and Sevilla's Luis Fabiano.
The double move was confirmed by Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani, although he also acknowledged the possibility of failure:
"Milan have made offers for Huntelaar and Fabiano, but it's a difficult market because Real Madrid's spending has meant prices have doubled since last year".
Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is also a target, but Galliani conceded that securing his signature was unlikely.
"Eto'o's an important player, but he's asking for too much money. We don't hold much hope of reaching a deal. This is a time to maintain balance."
Galliani's comments will also dampen British newspaper reports which had suggested that Milan were interested in Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch.
